Located on the banks of the river Nançon, Fougères is steeped in rich heritage that spans over a thousand years.
Certified by the Ministry of Culture as a City of Art and History, Fougères guarantees its visitors a culturally rich and historically enlightening visit. The Nançon flows past the base of the fabulous château of Fougères and through the medieval quarter where it passes through the half-timbered houses, past the remains of the Fuller and Tan mills – the artisanal activity of times past. Gîte Petite Fougères is situated on the edge of this medieval quarter and a moonlit stroll through this area and around the perimeter of the château will be a highlight of your stay.
