Welcome to our Petite Gîte in Fougères.
Fougères is a lovely town and home to the largest medieval fortress in Europe.
The château is one of France’s most impressive and consists of three enclosures whose walls are beautifully preserved and include thirteen fairy-tale like towers. At dawn and dusk it is a magical place. The gîte, Petite Fougères is on the edge of the medieval district and the château can be viewed from the main loft bedroom. The medieval town sprang up south of the château around the River Nançon whose waters were used by cloth-makers, dyers and tanners. There is a real sense of history and a fantastic restaurant nestled amongst the half-timbered houses.
